Please mark URGENT if you need a reply in the next few weeks. 
Please mark PERSONAL if the letter is not about work. 
Mail is only collected and posted once a week (we have no mail delivery to our farm) so it may be at least a week, possibly two, before I receive your letter, and at least a week before I can send a reply.
If I am speaking away from home I may not receive your letter for several weeks. As we get hundreds and sometimes over a thousand letters a week from schools around the world, often I won’t be able to reply for several months, especially if teachers have been sending in class work.
Many apologies: I wish I could answer more quickly, and now do have help answering the mail, but at times there is still far more than we can cope with till things quieten down for a while.
